The OSI Group has various plants in the United Kingdom under the OSI Food Solutions Limited where it supplies meat, vegetable, and dough products to fast food companies. Due to its efforts in managing risks, it was awarded the Globe of Honour by the British Safety Council in November 2017. For a company to receive such an award, it has to achieve exemplary performance during the British Safety Council audit scheme. The award is also judged by an experienced panel that assesses the company’s environment from the production centers to the shops and the offices. OSI Food Solutions was also awarded the Globe of Honour in 2015 and 2013.
Recently, OSI Group acquired Baho Food, a private food company that supplies food in the European markets. Such an acquisition gives OSI Food Solution UK a large market grip in Europe. Baho Foods produces products such as snacks, deli meats, and convenience foods. It has been operational for the past six decades meaning it already has an already existing strong market in Germany and Netherlands and OSI Food Solutions will benefit from this new area. Although the details of the acquisitions were not revealed, John Balvers and a team of executives from Baho Foods will be retained in the company and will help OSI Group executives to learn the operational aspects of the business. John Balver, who was Baho Food MD, congratulated OSI Group for the new acquisitions and said he looks forward to working part of the team.
OSI Group also purchased Flagship Europe a supplier of pies, mayonnaise, dressings; sous vide products, sauces, and frozen poultry in the United Kingdom. Speaking after the announcement the CEO of Flagship, Russell Maddock said that his team is looking forward to the new opportunities that will come forth with the partnership. This new partnership will expand OSI’s business in Europe. According to the President of OSI Group, David McDonald, the products offered by Flagship Europe are complementary to those produced by OSI. The last acquisition in 2016 was a new plant in Chicago which was owned by Tyson Foods. The Tyson Food Plant increases the production capacity of meat products for the North American markets.
